Biographical Information

Alisha D. Hurwood is an Associate in the Destin office. Her practice areas include community association law, local government law, business and commercial law, and real estate transactions.

Ms. Hurwood earned her Juris Doctor from the St. Thomas University College of Law. Ms. Hurwood earned her B.A. and M.S. degrees in Sociology from Mississippi State University focusing on sustainable water management and impacts of natural disasters. She received the outstanding undergraduate and graduate student awards for her work from the Department of Sociology. Ms. Hurwood is admitted to practice in Florida, and the U.S. District Courts of the Northern and Southern Districts of Florida. She has practiced more than fifteen years in numerous counties across southern Florida and the Emerald Coast.

Ms. Hurwood is active in the local bar and community. She is an active member and President of the Okaloosa chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Ms. Hurwood was appointed to the board of directors for the Destin Chamber of Commerce and continues to serve in that capacity.  Ms. Hurwood has been invited to present at American Bar Association conferences and Florida seminars on a wide range of topics, such as contract law, community association regulations, and using technology to improve client services. She regularly volunteers at local school events for volleyball and track teams and the band program.
