Biographical Information
Lauren Applegate is an associate at the Panama City office. Her practice is primarily focused on transactional and institutional law, including estate planning, business and commercial transactions, and education law. Mrs. Applegate also assists the civil litigation team. Mrs. Applegate is licensed to practice law in both Florida and Illinois.
Mrs. Applegate is a graduate of the Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, IL. During this time, she was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and the Society for Women in Law. She was on the Dean’s Honors List and also received a CALI award for the highest grade in International Law. During her last semester, Mrs. Applegate was a legal extern for the Honorable Richard D. Cudahy of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Prior to law school, Mrs. Applegate attended the University of Florida, where she graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Political Science. There, she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
After obtaining her juris doctor, Mrs. Applegate worked as a judicial staff attorney for both the 14th Judicial Circuit in Bay County and the 4th Judicial Circuit in Duval County for a combined 12 years. During her time as a staff attorney, Mrs. Applegate assisted the judges with a variety of cases, from criminal death penalty cases to complex civil litigation. Mrs. Applegate was also a member of the Florida Trial Court Staff Attorneys Association.
Mrs. Applegate was born and raised in Panama City, FL, where she now resides with her husband and children. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at her children’s school, spending time with her family, and playing piano.
