IADC Announces Henry Morrissette as New Board Member
The International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) has elected Henry T. Morrissette, a Member at Hand Arendall Harrison Sale LLC in Mobile, Alabama, as a new member of the IADC Board of Directors. The announcement was made at the organization’s 2023 Annual Meeting July 14 in Waimea, Hawaii.
The IADC is the preeminent invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests.
A member of the IADC since 2002, Mr. Morrissette is a past chair of the organization’s Amicus Curiae (2022-2023), In House and Law Firm Management (2019-2021) and Trial Techniques and Tactics (2013-2015) committees. In addition, he served on the faculty for the 2012 IADC Trial Academy at Stanford Law School, as the 2010 IADC General Convention chair, and as the program chair for the 2011 IADC Annual Meeting. In addition, he served as co-editor of the Third Edition of the Defense Counsel Training Manual published by the IADC.
Chair of Hand Arendall Harrison Sale’s Personal Injury, Insurance and Employment Practice Group, Mr. Morrissette has more than three decades of experience representing corporate and individual clients in business and insurance disputes and defending businesses and insurance companies in matters involving life, health and disability insurance; ERISA; employee benefits; fraud and bad faith; and product liability; as well as class action cases.
Mr. Morrissette has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America publication and was named Best Lawyers’ 2013 “Lawyer of the Year” for Insurance Law for Mobile, Alabama.
Mr. Morrissette currently serves as chair of the Federal Court Civil Practice Section of the Mobile Bar Association. Among his other professional affiliations are the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association (President in 2001-2002) and Defense Research Institute (DRI), serving as DRI’s Alabama state representative from 2002-2005.
Mr. Morrissette received his J.D. from the University of Alabama Law School and his Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) from Vanderbilt University.
