Michael Niemeyer Elected Bar President
Hand Arendall LLC is proud to announce that member Michael C. Niemeyer was elected President of the Baldwin County Bar Association effective January 1, 2014.
Mr. Niemeyer is a lifelong third-generation resident of Baldwin County and leads the firm’s litigation practice in that jurisdiction. He has significant experience in the representation of business, professional, real estate, insurance, retail and individual clients in commercial and property/casualty litigation, and he has successfully represented these clients in numerous arbitrations and civil trials in state and federal courts in Alabama. He has also successfully defended and prosecuted appeals of cases in Alabama and federal appellate courts. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Niemeyer provides legal counsel to local businesses and individuals in connection with strategic planning and informal dispute resolution to manage risk and avoid litigation.
Mr. Niemeyer received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1986, and obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1990. He is a member of the Baldwin County, Mobile County and Alabama State Bar Associations. He is also a member the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC), composed of approximately 1000 lawyers selectively and nationally recognized leaders in the legal community who have achieved professional distinction representing those in need of defense in civil suits and claims. Mr. Niemeyer attended Bayside Academy in Daphne, Alabama and has been inducted into both its Academic and Professional Society and Athletic Hall of Fame. Mr. Niemeyer devotes time and resources to assist individuals and families facing organ transplant, and he supports organ donation awareness initiatives.
